Nature & Découvertes
I recently designed two patterns for the French brand Nature & Decouvertes. Together we imagined a travel pillow that cleverly folds to offer different options to relax while on the road. The pillow is an invitation to take a imaginary journey to Bali, revealing a specific aspect of it’s cultural and natural richness as you manipulate it. Inspired by the luxurious forests of the Island, I created a tropical pattern illustrating endemic species such as ferns, banana trees, frangipani flowers, Balinese starling, Ibis etc…
The second print, a folk inspired stripe, was influenced by the Indonesian batik, a traditional technique mastered by local artisans that is particularly refined and listed as a UNESCO world heritage craft.
